Extended Access

Evening & Weekend Appointments at The Hub or Enhanced Access

To help more people who need to be seen urgently by a local doctor same day appointments are available every weekday evening between 18:30 and 22:00, and 08:00 – 20:00 on weekends. The appointments are available to everyone registered with a GP in Redbridge.

You can call the service directly on 020 3649 4499 between 08:00 and 20:00 Monday-Sunday all year round for an appointment.

Appointments will be made at Loxford Polyclinic, 417 Ilford Lane, Ilford, IG1 2SN. Consultations at the Loxford Polyclinic are by appointment only as there is no walk-in service.

The Loxford Polyclinic appointments are for urgent conditions that are likely dealt with by your GP but not for ongoing chronic problems like heart disease and not for emergencies requiring A&E (Accident & Emergency)

NHS 111 can also book you into a GP hub if you need an urgent appointment.

There is also a service offered by Wasntead & Woodfrod PCN called Enchanced Access. This service provides access to GP, Nurse, HCA and Physiotherapist. It can be accessed by appointment only.

There are 2 sites you can be seen at, The Shrubberies Medical Centre - Monday to Friday 18:30 to 21:30 and Glebelands Practice - Saturdays ONLY 09:00 to 17:00.

The reception team at the surgery can book you in for these appointments if none are available on the day you call us. Alternatively, you can call this service yourselves on 020 4506 8827 for pre-bookable appointments only.

The out of hours GPs can see and update your records in the appointment so it is no different to seeing a doctor at your usual practice.

When We Are Closed

If your GP surgery is closed and you need medical attention that cannot wait, you can contact the GP Out of Hours team by calling NHS 111. This service is provided by the Partnership of East London Co-operatives (PELC) Ltd..

The A&E Department at the Hospital best deals with injuries, accidents & sudden collapses.

NHS 111 Online

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
