eConsult Update October 2025

eConsults for NON -URGENT appointment requests, medication queries and admin requests will be available to patients from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) from October 1, 2025.

This service is not suitable for URGENT requests, and you be signposted to reception via telephone, 111 or AE. This may lead to avoidable delays in care if eConsult is utilised.
If you have an URGENT medical need please contact the GP practice via telephone, 111 or attend AE.
AN URGENT ISSUE IS A MEDICAL CONDITION OR INJURY THAT REQUIRES PROMPT ATTENTION BECAUSE IT COULD WORSEN IF LEFT UNTREATED, BUT IS NOT IMMEDIATELY LIFE- THREATENING.
THIS IS DISTINCT FROM AN EMERGENCY, WHICH REQUIRES IMMEDIATE, LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT. (VIA 999 AND AE)

eConsult Dos & Don'ts

Do

Provide as much detail as possible. It helps the clinician triage your request.
Look out for responses from clinicians. Please try to reply within 24 hours. After 7 days you can no longer respond and the process will have to start again.
Upload photos if it is appropriate to do so
Check dates needed for fit notes

Don't

Submit clinical queries as admin requests. The admin team will reply to the submitter asking for them to complete a clinical eConsult (when they are able to do so) and signpost to NHS 111
Submit multiple queries for the same issue. This will slow down the request and not speed it up
